Since its inception in 1997, the AIGA Austin Chapter has produced a variety of educational events ranging from Small Talks lectures to the nationally recognized, Design Ranch conference. Additional chapter events include the Business Breakfast Series, social networking activities, annual membership meetings, SXSW Film Design Awards, the Reel Design screenings, workshops and The Texas Show.

Past lectures by the chapter have included such dignitaries as Stefan Sagmeister, Luba Lukova, Chip Kidd, Doyald Young, and Sean Adams. In 2007, Mike Hicks, a founding member of AIGA Texas, was honored with the first AIGA Austin Fellow award.

All work accomplished in the chapter is achieved through dedicated volunteers, whether it is through a one-time commitment or through a full-time board position. A full list of sponsors and board members can be found at AIGAAustin.org.
